Each studentship includes:
- Tuition Fees: Full coverage at the UK Research Councils’ national rate.
- Stipend: £19,237 per annum to support living expenses.
- Additional Support: Access to training, development resources, and potential funding for placements.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality: Open to all nationalities, including EU, GB, International, NI, and ROI applicants.
- Academic Qualifications: A strong undergraduate degree is essential. A Master’s degree is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Program Commencement: Applicants must be prepared to begin their studies in October 2025.
- Fee Status: While international applicants are welcome, only up to 30% of studentships can be awarded to international candidates. Applicants should be aware of potential differences between UKRI fee rates and international tuition fees.

- Engage with a Supervisor: Early contact with a potential supervisor is crucial to refine your research proposal.
- Prepare Application Documents:
- Research Proposal: Maximum 2,000 words, including footnotes but excluding bibliography.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): Up to 2 pages.
- References: Two academic references.
- Academic Transcripts: Full transcripts of previous qualifications.
- Consent Form: For data processing.
- Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form: Submitted separately.
- Submit Application: Apply directly to the chosen university, adhering to their specific guidelines and deadlines.
