Focus on Your Assignment – Prince Boadi. This is one of the rare messages shared to an audience in an MLM training session. It was one of the points shared by Mr Prince Boadi during the destination event at Ofoase Kokoben in the Ashanti Region of Ghana for the TIENS Group in 2022.
Many people have joined several MLM companies and have left for various reasons. Mr Boadi did not miss words when he asked the teaming participants in the hall, “Do you know why you are here?” Most people come into the MLM industry with a salary mentality and that becomes their undoing.
Of course, my aim is not to provide verbatim what he taught, but to share with you what I learnt and the lessons I picked up from his presentation.
First, what you must understand, pack up and take away this moment is that, the MLM industry aims at delivering what is known as “financial freedom” and “time freedom”, and this condition is not arrived at in a day, month or even year. Another stack reality that should sink is that, this multi-level marketing terrain, albeit lucrative in the long term is a long-term project that warrants some level of sacrifice and dedication.
This does not come easily; it is like digging deep into the earth to plant a foundation for the construction of a sky scrapper. In the end, it will not fail, however, the patience and the ability to withstand the terrain is what differentiates successful MLM professionals from those who fail or who are not able to make it.
This is so glaring in my four years active service with the TIENS Group.
“Attrition rate” is the term used to describe a quantification of how people leave your team. Averagely, you could experience up to 90% attrition rate within your team, and you should not be surprised. If you are not told this bitter truth, it will shock you when it happens.
At that point, what keeps you going is your resolve on your assignment. What do you seek to achieve in your MLM career? in my case, TIENS Group? Many are the successful stories of great feats achieved by people who have come from backgrounds that would not fly in the corporate world.
These people came to TIENS with an assignment up their sleeves, they came with something to achieve, they came with an end goal in mind. This is what drove them to their eventual achievement.
Focus on Your Assignment – Focus
As you read this, set up your assignment if you do not have any. Peg it in a realistic manner and make a resolve not to leave it no matter what. That way, you keep going until you arrive. It is the beginning of year 2025 with a few days to end the first month, and I am drawing lessons from the year 2022 for you. The world celebrated Tobi Amusan for an achievement that lasted a few seconds, but it took several years of hard work, and that is exactly what we must do. Each sprinter knows that their achievement is in a few seconds. A sprint would not last more than 10 seconds, yes! It takes less than 10 seconds to make history, break old records and set a new one, but it takes years to train for that 10 seconds.
How long are you willing to go through such training?
Each day, week and month spent in an active MLM company is a new lesson, but this lesson hones up your skills and makes you see the facts in public vitriol that is poured out from those who do not understand the industry.
If only you can focus, and not make this an “as and when business” you will definitely succeed in this business.
